iTAC with New IoT and BI Portfolio at APEX 2015

Final realization of the Internet of Things and Services paves the way to the Smart Factory

Montabaur, 30 January, 2015 – From February 24-26, 2015 iTAC Software AG will be exhibiting at “IPC APEX EXPO 2015” in San Diego in booth #3437. Among others it will be demonstrating its new mobile device capable iTAC.BI.Portal as well as the IoT solution portfolio iTAC.Trace.Server and iTAC.smart.MESDevice. These software solutions, smart devices and embedded systems complete iTAC.MES.Suite to realize the Industrial Internet.

In the midst of the fourth industrial revolution, manufacturing companies have to push ahead with a digitalization of their entire value chain. Therefore, iTAC will be illustrating new developments that support manufacturing companies to finally and successfully realize the Internet of Things (IoT). 

iTAC.BI.Portal: mobile, fast and reliable – even within the cloud
The new central instance for analyzing, reporting and data editing which has been developed jointly between iTAC and the Actuate Corporation will be the center of attention of this year’s APEX presence. Through the cloud-based architecture of the BI application and a fast in-memory cache iTAC.BI.Portal consolidates, administrates and delivers decision-relevant information related to manufacturing intelligence, quality control and traceability – even on Android and iOS devices. The running costs (TCO) of the entire MES solution are only marginally increased by adding a BI infrastructure.

The iTAC.BI.Portal guarantees ultra-fast report generation using cached data objects, meaning that report generation won’t impact the M2M communication. It is also capable of Big Data processing, as illustrated by the following sample statistics: 

The one year’s MDC/PDC data of a high volume factory contain 3.4 millions of records and, on the basis of a compressed in-memory cache object of 100 MB, they can be reported within 2-3 seconds via a customary Intel-based server infrastructure. 

In addition to examples of Big Data applications iTAC will be presenting an IoT scenario including iTAC.smart.MESDevice and iTAC.smart.SensorDevice. On the basis of these two industry suitable IoT components combined with the embedded system iTAC.Trace.Server an autonomous tracking & tracing scenario for a SMT line can be demonstrated live at the show. All these plug & produce components are cost-effective solutions that help small and medium-sized newcomers digitalize their manufacturing processes within the Industrial Internet age.
