iTAC at the HANNOVER MESSE 2016: News from the Digital Factory world

Industry 4.0 in practice: From Big Data Analytics and IoT-Service to MES-Appliance

Montabaur, 8 March 2016 – iTAC Software AG, a company of the Dürr Group, is networking the digital world and production. Visitors can find out which smart technology can achieve this in the Digital Factory at the HANNOVER MESSE from 25 to 29 April. Innovations regarding big data analytics, a cloud-ready IoT-service and a MES-appliance along with other successful iTAC solutions will be the focus of the exhibition appearance. iTAC will be represented at the joint stand of the Smart Electronic Factory e.V. society in Hall 7, Stand B18 as well as at the stand of the SmartFactory KL in Hall 8, Stand D19/20. Both initiatives use the iTAC.MES.Suite as the technological core of their smart plants.

Cloud-ready manufacturing execution systems (MES) as data platforms form the key technology in Industry 4.0. They provide important data and set the tempo in production. Combining this with communication technology, iTAC develops solutions that enable continuous digitalization and networking of machines and equipment.

At the HANNOVER MESSE the MES-specialist iTAC will also be showing how Production Processes 4.0 can be brought into convergence with intelligent data processing and big data analytics. iTAC.BI.Portal is a business intelligence solution providing the foundation for big data applications. The portal is based on iTAC.ARTES.Middleware, which is embedded in the Java EE application server iTAC.AppServer. Decision-relevant information is collected, securely managed and made available via an intelligent link to the iTAC.MES.Suite database. This enables easy, quick and mobile data analysis, reporting and preparation.

In addition, we will be introducing the new iTAC.IoT.Service, a MES application including database that is isolated in a Docker Container. Using this solution, MES functionalities, e.g. traceability, can be easily carried out in a public cloud data processing center. A complex local MES infrastructure is not required.

The new near plant iTAC.MES.Appliance follows the same principle. This works like an “MES in the box” and is aimed at OEM plant manufacturers. The stand-alone system, similar to cloud-based iTAC.IoT.Service, has a complete MES including database and the most modern internet communication technology. However, unlike the IoT solution, this product is supplied with stand-alone server hardware. This autonomous solution works following the Plug & Produce principle and does not depend on a central IT infrastructure – it is therefore the ideal Industry 4.0 entry-level solution for plant manufacturers and SMEs.

At Home in the World of the Smart Factory
iTAC will be demonstrating these and other solutions at the HANNOVER MESSE in Hall 7/B18 at the Smart Electronic Factory e.V. joint stand. – a society that develops practical Industry 4.0 scenarios for small and medium-sized companies. As the initiator and member of this initiative, iTAC provides the MES for the research and demonstration platform.
Furthermore, the MES specialist is represented at the SmartFactory KL stand (D19/20 Halle 8). Here too, the iTAC.MES.Suite is the heart of the smart plants. At the trade fair an Industry 4.0-ready production line that was developed in cooperation with other partners will be shown.
