Your Tasks
- Define procedural goals and direct development of departmental and cross office standard procedures in concert with other Applications / Process Engineering managers
- Define and implement the department’s organizational reporting structure.
- Determine staffing requirements and fill positions as necessary.
- Determine and implement effective and equitable staff pay.
- Determine how to source engineering – in house, outsource, low cost country, sister company.
- Review staff performance and lay-off / reduce staff when necessary.
- Communicate company strategy.
- Motivate staff.
- Plan for and encourage staff advancement.
- Estimate engineering resources and timing for proposed company projects.
- Approve proposal, project and R&D engineering designs
- Determine acceptable technical risk for engineering designs
- Develop engineering standards, procedures and tools
- Assign staff appropriately to projects and other tasks.
- Assure departmental input and compliance with project schedules.
- Direct the development of effective designs of local and international origin.
- Recommend departmental capital spending.
- Provide reporting to management as requested.
- Act as the company’s senior engineering representative in internal and external company interactions.

Your Skills
- Broad understanding of engineering principles, methods, tools, and limitations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel.
- Able to maintain confidentiality when required.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Must be able to manage time and determine priorities.
- No travel restrictions.
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering field.
- Minimum 15 years of engineering experience.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in automotive paint finishing
