Service Manager

Your Tasks

  • Coordinate with customers, technicians, project managers, and others, to provide a high level of customer service
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers
  • Prepare customer proposals for service, as well as cost estimates for commissioning projects
  • Manage department resources and assign personnel to execute specific field projects
  • Ensure direct reports are current and comply with company safety initiatives
  • Support the execution of emergency service work
  • Supervise a team of Field Service Technicians
  • Develop individual performance goals for all direct reports and perform annual performance reviews
  • Develop personal and departmental goals, including identification of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Maintain the skills and periodically perform the role of a Service Technician
  • Manage department resources to minimize downtime and maximize departmental resource efficiencies
  • Provide daily technical support to Customers, Technicians, other resources in the company
  • Perform scheduling of Field Service Technicians
  •  

    Nonessential Functions

     

  • Basic knowledge of electrical installation work
    • Electrical hardwire drawings
    • Conduit layout principals
    • Progress evaluation
  • Basic understanding of sequences of operations and cause & effect relationships
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Your Skills

  • Air pollution control equipment experience preferred
  • Extensive and detailed understanding of environmental systems design, trouble shooting, preventive maintenance and project management
  • Knowledge of PLC based control systems
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and manage remote Field Service personnel while supporting numerous Field Technicians simultaneously
  • Have understanding of pneumatic, electric and hydraulic power systems
  • Analytical approach to developing solutions and decision making
  • Experience with personnel management of a small group
  • Have complete understanding of the Company safety program and apply that program to the management of the Customer Service department
  • Formally trained & certified in the Company safety program
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus
  • Ability to understand and maintain project schedules
  • Good time management skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Good technical writing skills
  • Able to effectively communicate with engineering and estimating departments, contractors, suppliers, and customers
  • Able to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Able to technically define problems and propose solutions
  • Adaptable to change in a learning environment
  • Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when necessary
